the desert people, dressed in their indigo blue layers of cloth, are well prepared for the brutal desert conditions. Their clothing is a shield; a shield modelled on their magical stories and beliefs. Limited in resources, and restricted by harsh conditions, they emit mysticism. Presence of matriarchy puts the woman high on the ladder of society
The Tuareg collection is based on the idea of layered dressing of the desert people. The clothing is there to protect the body - the body heavily covered for protection. The colour palette is based on earthly tones; cuts and composition compensating for the minimal use of colour. Strict lines are combined with draped softer ones. The materials are natural, relying on carefully selected silks and cottons.
